People could be very disappointing. They keep on sugarcoating who they really are the first time you meet them. In the long walk you'd realize that you're eating too much icing but no cake. And by then, you begin to feel lost. How come you thought you knew this person and ending up all wrong? Little by little the person you thought you knew has shifted to something or somewhat alien to you. And this gives you pain and denial for the truth and hopeful to something that is nearly impossible.
Pain. Yes, Pain. It is usually avoided by everyone. People walk too much on the clouds avoiding reality of life. Reality that life is sometimes bitter. But from the book i read it says, "Pain is an unwanted tutor that seeks to multiply our STRENGTH, expand our WISDOM, and deepen our COMPASSION.". There is, however, one critical element. SOMEONE must help you glimpse the purpose of your hurts. SOMEONE must promise you that your tears are never wasted and that, someday you will laugh again. In short, someone must come to your side and comfort you--- SOMEONE THAT COULD NEVER DISAPPOINT YOU.
Everybody has their own share of trials: depression, regrets, exhaustion, frustration, anger and anxiety....yet, "FOR EVERY VALLEY WE PASS THROUGH, THERE IS A STREAM THAT RUNS ALONG IT."
We just have to choose that right someone.
Choose God to be that SOMEONE. Choose to turn to God for comfort. "When we pray specifically for certain dreams, we will go though a period of dying our dreams; but God will resurrect that dead dreams so that we would NOT go backwards in faith -- David Yonggi Cho"
Trusting is very hard especially when you've gone through HUGE disappointments. But God sees our needs before we do. Putting our trust in Him means triumph in life. Yes, people disappoint you in many ways but God won't! God knows what we need before we ask Him. What keeps our hurt going is that WE PUT TOO MUCH HUMAN EFFORT that we fail to realize that God is in control. I'm not saying that we wouldn't do anything, actually we HAVE TO. The difference is, entrusting it in ourselves could only bring us uncertainty BUT if we entrust what we do in God, we would never feel disappointment when things don't go the way we wanted because we know God works in our lives.
So stop getting disappointed and start accepting that some people are just up to that extent and you can't do anything about it. Give it all to God, and see how He miraculously works in our lives!
